V Baiqonyr ISFF: Results of Music Video Competition Summed Up
The V BAIQONYR International short film festival hosted a music video competition for the first time.
Participants competed for victory in seven nominations, but according to the jury, two of them – «Best Director in a Music Video» and «Best Visual Effects in a Music Video» – did not take place.
Best musical video – Jeltoksan «Jaiykpen Juzdeskende».
Best Cinematography in a Music Video – Jeltoksan «Jaiykpen Juzdeskende».
Best Music Video Script – DNA «Tumandy Qala»
Best work of the artist in music video - DNA «Tumandy Qala»
Best installation in music video – Orynkhan «Menimen Bol».
«I wanted to see bright works in the competition that I would like, but, unfortunately, it turned out the other way round – there were few such projects. Most of the music videos were weak, but I don't think it was a big problem. I believe that the specialists who participated in their development and production will eventually grow and start to amaze us with their projects», – said Andrey Rasputin, the jury chairman of the music competition.
The works of the participants were also evaluated by director Yernar Nurgaliyev, colorist Yerlan Tanayev, choreographer Andrey Khvan, and producer Nurbergen Makhambetov.
The winners of national and international competitions of the 5th International Short Film Festival «Baikonyr» were announced earlier.
